Canmore – a beautiful town nested in Canadian Rockies. I have taken many a trip to the beautiful Rockies and have passed by this creek many times, but never explored it in person. This mesmerizing creek is called the Policeman’s Creek, located in Bow Trail Road, Canmore, Alberta.
How to get to Canmore
Nearest airport to fly to Canmore/Banff and other Canadian Rockies parks is Calgary in Alberta. Other nearby airports include Edmonton and Vancouver (for international visitors)
Accommodation in Canmore can range from $90 to $350 CAD (2016). Highly recommend to book in advance especially during peak seasons (Summer and few weeks around Christmas)
Glimpses from Policeman’s Creek, in Canmore, Alberta (Canada)
Located very close to Downtown Canmore, Policeman’s Creek offers a great spot for a quick hike – a place for perfect relaxation, bird watching, mountain gazing and nature admiring. The trail head entrance to the Policeman’s Creek trail is on the corner of Main Street and Railway Avenue near the NWMP Barracks.
Walk in to the trail and take the wooded pathway.
You will be greeted by amazing mountain views, surrounded by flora all around
At the end of the wooded pathway, there is a broad-walk. You can take pictures from the bridge and/or continue the walk towards the other side of the town. This trail acts as a connector trail – connecting with other trails – ideal for getting from one end of town to the other
I visited this trail at the end of November 2016, the weather was great. You can see the blue water and the snow capped mountains in the backdrop.
Dogs on leash are allowed inside the trail. No bikes are permitted inside.
Entry to this place is completely free. So enjoy the beautiful Rockies and the Policeman Creek Trail!
